The late Mwangosi who was born in 1972 in Tukuyu, Mbeya was buried at Msoka village, in Rungwe District after prayers at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania, Konde Diocese.
His burial followed investigations by explosive experts from the Tanzania People’s Defense Force, regarding his death.
Speaking at the burial scene yesterday, the leader of Iringa-based journalists, Francis Godwin said Mwangosi was killed by a bomb at 16:00 when collecting news at the Chadema rally.
“Before his death, there was a misunderstanding between police and Chadema followers and leaders. Then later fracas happened and police started beating him,” he said, adding: “Earlier police had threatened him personally,” he noted.
The Chadema Secretary General Dr Wilbroad Slaa said they had met with police and demanded formation of an independent commission. He said that there were many areas that they agreed on.
The Inspector General of Police, Said Mwema who also attended the burial ceremony assured mourners of proper investigation into the matter.
“I call on you wananchi to be patient and wait for the report,” he said.
The late Mwangosi is survived by a widow and four children.
